Connected vehicles are in everyone’s future and advanced mobile networks will have a growing role to play as the ecosystem matures. As a consequence, these mobile networks will become just as essential as the highways we drive on.

AECC members Roger Berg, Christer Boberg and Bruno Fernandez-Ruiz recently joined Tim Hatt, Head of Research at GSMA Intelligence in a webinar titled, “Seizing the Connected Vehicle Services Opportunity,” which explored this very topic.

During the discussion, panelists give an overview of the connected vehicle services landscape, share details on AECC’s Proof of Concept (PoC) program, explain how to get involved (even non-members can participate) and provide examples of recent program proposals. Watch the full session here.

In addition to the webinar, the AECC contributed to the development of the complementary whitepaper, “Connecting to Opportunity: AECC Shows PoCs for Next-Gen Vehicles,” which summarizes the AECC’s most recent Proofs of Concept, as well as the importance of cooperation and data sharing for MNOs as they capitalize on the connected vehicle opportunity.

We invite you to download the accompanying whitepaper here.

This whitepaper covers:

  • Enabling Distributed Edges
  • Efficient Data Transfer
  • Vodafone/Ericsson/Toyota PoC
  • KDDI/DENSO/Toyota PoC
  • Laying the groundwork for commercial deployments
  • Collaboration unlocks opportunity
